Dental Crowns and Bridges

When a tooth has suffered from decay, or is broken or missing, a dental crown or bridge might be the right solution for you.

A crown is a custom-made “cap” that covers the entire visible surface of a tooth. Your Rockville dentist might recommend a crown to restore or reinforce a tooth. Using our state-of-the-art iTero imaging machine, our doctors will scan your mouth and design a tooth that fits your needs exactly. During your first visit, our doctors will prepare your tooth by reshaping the top and sides so that the crown fits comfortably on top of the tooth—you will receive a temporary crown until your custom one is built at a dental lab.

When we receive your permanent crown, which is usually made of porcelain or composite resin, you will be invited back to complete the treatment process and leave with a beaming smile and a tooth that matches your natural teeth.

If you have lost multiple teeth next to each other, or if the tooth isn’t healthy enough to have a crown, you may be required to securely anchor the new teeth to adjacent natural ones with the use of a bridge. There are multiple solutions available depending on the health of your surrounding teeth.

Bridges and crowns are a great way to restore your bite to help you chew effectively and also improve the function of your mouth to regain a strong and healthy smile.
